“How do I communicate nature’s detail and complexity in a simple visual statement that makes sense not only to myself as artist but to the viewer? As I paint intuitively, I continually ask, what is seen, what is unseen? What has been uncovered or hidden that influences the painting? I adapt to the evolving changes as the painting takes form by building layers and by staying flexible and open to what is being revealed.”
